Yasuo Kobayashi Sensei

Kobayashi Sensei, 8th Dan, Shihan (Hombudojo) was born in 1936 in Tokyo. He started learning Aikido as a student in The Meiji University in 1954. He was a direct student of O-sensei, third generation. He taught for a while in Hombhu Dojo and a few other Universities in Tokyo. He then decided to establish his own Dojo in an area called Tokorozawa. He built a house in Kodaira above his own Dojo, and started  forming more and more groups.

His organization is called now Kobayashi Dojo, a really large organization that has 120 branches and more, with very high ranking teachers like Igarashi Sensei, Hatayama Sensei and hundreds of students. Kobayashi received an award from the Nihon Budo Kyogikai in 1987 for excellence in organization.

Kobayashi Sensei keeps a close connection with Hombu Dojo, and gains a unique cooperation: 3 times a year Hombu Dojo enables Kobayashi's organization to rent the halls in Hombu Dojo in-order to conduct degree examinations to all his students. In 1975 he was asked by Aikikai to send a teacher to Brazil in order to develop Aikido there. Kobayashi Sensei arrived to Rio accompanied by his most advanced student – Ichitami Shikanai who agreed to the challenge. Kobayashi Sensei visits Brazil regularly almost every year since then, and heads there national seminars.
