Organization and supervision
Aikikai Hombu Dojo is an umbrella organization, which was founded by Ueshiba Morihei after World War II as a continuation of Kobukan Dojo. The Dojo is situated in a four story building in the center of Tokyo, Shinjuku Quarter. Each floor has a large hall for practicing and it is occupied with classes from morning until night for locals and guests from abroad to practice together.
 Under this organization IAF was created which is the International Aikido Federation. It includes the majority of Aikido organizations world wide. Moriteru Ueshiba, Doshu (the leader) that stands at the head of the organization, is the grandson of the founder. He was appointed automatically after the death of his father Mr. Kisshomaru Ueshiba who was the late Doshu. He managed the organization for many years. The power of this organization is that it sends representatives abroad, world wide in order to help spread aikido. In addition, the organization is responsible for giving degrees ,diplomas and special certificates that are internationally accepted.
