This is a Traditional Japanes Martial Art. The art of the stick. This art is based on aquiring the skills with the stick (Jo) to face the Sword. It is an ancient art and it should be classified as a Koryu (Old stream).

The idea of the weak facing the strong by the use of technical skills and proper mental preparation is common to many arts including Aikido. But in Shinto Muso Ryu - Jo, this is based on real history and fighting tradition.

The training requires almost no physical effort but it is very demanding technically and requires a lot of attention and coordination. Only after years and years of practicing one can achieve a certaing degree of mastering.
